Good Eggs is bringing local groceries right to you. Order online from the best local farmers & foodmakers, and your groceries will be picked and prepped to order. We’ll aggregate, pack and deliver your goods to your door—or you can pick them up free at lots of convenient locations around the Bay Area.
What are your Pork Shares?
Our pork shares are roughly 1/5 of a pig or 25 lb. +/- of mixed cuts. They are the same Smoked Berk Shares and Fresh Berk Shares that are available to local residents of Mendocino County. All the details on how awesome the pork is, our ranching practices, and what’s in the share is on our Pork Page. The only difference is the price, as we are using Good Eggs to market the shares in San Francisco, and we have to deliver the meat.

2011 Chicken CSA
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged chicken, meat order on January 14, 2011 | Leave a Comment »
Hello, Ukiah Valley! It is wet and wintry, but we are busy on spreadsheets, on the phone, consulting calendars, and on our calculators planning out the main growing season – spring! (We’re also in the middle of lambing season and the Winter Veg CSA…) But, the spring fairies will be out and blooming sooner than we know it
As a community-based farm, we market most of our food products through CSA – Community-Supported Agriculture. We are doing the Chicken CSA again, with some small changes from past seasons. Check out the Chicken CSA page for more detailed info.
This year, we are raising chickens from June through October. We are ending the season a little earlier in case there is a big, early rain, as happened in 2010. So, a chicken share is 5 chickens ($90.00) throughout the season. Also, we are raising and processing a batch of chickens every other week, as opposed to every 4 weeks. This should provide for a more consistent size in the chicken you get each pick-up. All the details on how the chicken CSA works can be found here. Plan on signing up for a chicken share by March 15, 2011!
Also, this year, we hope to upgrade our poultry processing station. Some things we hope to invest in include: killing cones, chiller, carrying crates, and the convenient “cryovac” bags. (You can explore small-scale poultry processing here.) We hope to improve on our poultry enterprise, ultimately making it more cost-effective and resulting in better chicken for you!
Heritage Pork – CSA Berk Shares
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged meat order, pigs on October 28, 2010 | 2 Comments »
We’re thrilled to again offer Berkshire pork! Ready in April 2011, you can order a whole or half pig. And new this year, we are offering CSA Berk Shares!
What is a CSA Berk Share?
It is the same delicious Berkshire pork we have raised in the past, but instead of committing to a whole or half pig, you commit to roughly 30 lb of a mix of cuts. With one upfront payment, you have a choice of getting a Fresh Berk Share of only fresh cuts, or a Smoked Berk Share which includes smoked bacon and ham.
As a community based farm, we farmers depend on your commitment to our sustainably-grown food. In return, we support you with our good, local, healthy food.
Read more about our Berkshire pork and how to get the new CSA Berk Shares here.
Still Room for Chicken CSA Members

While the official sign-up deadline has passed, we are actually still taking more chicken CSA members! Particularly in the Willits area – we would love to have more folks in that group.
The first batch of Fred (what we fondly name our chickens) are about 3 weeks-old now. In one more week, we will move them out of their cozy brooder and onto fresh, lush pastures on the farm.
Check out our chicken page for all the details on the chicken CSA.
