Willits: Distribution occurs Thursday afternoon for 24 weeks, weekly from May 23 to October 31.
Distribution Sort System
When you pick up your vegetable share, you “sort” your own share. The farmers deliver the produce in bulk (a box of broccoli, a box of carrots, etc.) and provide a list of what is in the share each week. Shareholders put together his/her weekly share from that list. This sort system helps keep the share cost down and encourages shareholder involvement.
Sharing Shares
If you would like to share a share, we ask that you choose a primary shareholder who will be responsible for making payments to the farm. If you enroll for half a share, your membership will be on hold until you can find a partner. The share must be picked up all at once and then divided after. You can also divide your share by picking up on alternate weeks.
Additional CSA Shares
Vegetable CSA shareholders may also sign up for optional shares. Click on the links for more information.
- Fall Vegetable Share – weekly vegetable shares of cool-weather crops (6 weeks)
- Pome Fruit Share – apples and pears from The Apple Farm in Philo
- Pork Share – heritage Berkshire pork from Mendocino Organics
Share Price
Vegetable share price is $450.00 for 24 weeks of organic vegetables
Financial Aid Fund
The Financial Aid Fund is used to help members who otherwise cannot afford to purchase a CSA share. The Fund is funded by member contributions. For more information about the Fund or about receiving financial aid, please email Paula@MendocinoOrganics.com
Payment in Installments
Payments may be made in installments: $150.00 deposit plus any Financial Aid Fund contributions are due with enrollment. Installment payments by check must be submitted as post-dated check with initial enrollment. The balance is payable in three $100.00 installments due April 1, June 1, and August 1, 2013. If you are getting any optional shares, the balance is due with initial enrollment.
