Mendocino Organics grows grain for both people and livestock (feed):
- wheat
- barley
- oats
- peas
Mendocino Organics strives to not only provide a wide array of food, but to also create the fertility for the farm from within the farm. Grain is a staple food of our diet, and fertility for the farm includes inputs like organic feed for our pigs and poultry.
In the future, we hope to grow oil seed crops for cooking oil and seed meal for our animals. Sometimes, our grain is available through the Mendocino Grain Project. Contact Doug Mosel (doug@mendocinograin.net) if you’re interested in purchasing a local grain share.
